Quick Start
The shortest path to the core Framis workflow: enter Arrange Mode, pick a zone, choose a window.
Once Framis is installed and has Accessibility permission, the core workflow takes under a minute to learn.
1. Enter Arrange Mode
Press ⌃⌥F (the default global hotkey). A frosted glass overlay appears across the active display with numbered zones.
This dedicated mode is the only time Framis takes over input. Outside of it, your mouse and keyboard work exactly as before. See Arrange Mode for the full design.
2. Pick a zone
Press the number key for the zone you want to fill — 1, 2, 3, and so on. An inline picker opens inside that zone with the list of open windows.
3. Choose the window
Use ↓ and ↑ to highlight the window you want there, then press Enter. You can also start typing to filter by app or window title.
4. Repeat without leaving
Arrange Mode stays active after each placement. Press the next zone number, pick the next window, and keep going until the workspace is set up. Press Esc to exit.
A useful habit
Treat layouts as task presets. Press [ or ] mid-session to switch between Left | Right, Three Columns, Left 2/3 | Right 1/3, or any of the eight built-in layouts without leaving the mode.
